Leadership Southwest Class of 2027

Each year, Leadership Southwest brings together a select class of professionals committed to making a lasting impact throughout Southwest Dallas and Northern Ellis County.
Leadership Southwest is a regional leadership development program designed to help participants strengthen their leadership skills, expand their regional network, and gain valuable insight into the businesses, organizations, and communities shaping our region.
Who Should Apply?
Leadership Southwest welcomes emerging and established leaders who demonstrate:
- Community Engagement: A commitment to community service and civic involvement.
- Leadership Potential: A desire to grow personally and professionally.
- Professionalism: High standards of excellence, integrity, and ethical leadership.
- Employer Support: Full support from an employer or sponsoring organization.
- Attendance Commitment: The ability to meet all program attendance requirements.
Preference may be given to applicants who are individual members or employees of organizations that are members in good standing with one of Leadership Southwest’s partner chambers of commerce:
- Balch Springs
- Cedar Hill
- DeSoto
- Duncanville
- Glenn Heights
- Inland Port Area
Program Schedule & Attendance
Leadership Southwest is an immersive leadership experience that requires active participation throughout the program.
- Program Dates: The third Wednesday of each month from January through November 2027.
- Class Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Attendance: Participants are expected to attend every class session in its entirety.
- Absences: Notify the Executive Director of any unavoidable absence.
- Late Arrivals and Early Departures: These are tracked and count toward accumulated absences.
- Program Standing: Participants who miss more than two class sessions may be dismissed from the program.
- Schedule Changes: Class dates, locations, and times may change due to holidays, venue availability, speaker schedules, weather, or other program needs.
- Weather Updates: Check your email and the Leadership Southwest website the day before each class session for weather-related notices or schedule updates.
Application Requirements
To be considered for the Leadership Southwest Class of 2027, applicants must:
- Pay the required non-refundable application fee online.
- Download and complete the Leadership Southwest Class of 2027 Application PDF.
- Email the completed PDF application to admin@leadershipsw.org.
- Email two completed Recommendation Forms by the application deadline.
Your application is not complete until the online application fee, completed PDF application, and two recommendation forms have been received.
Application Fee
The non-refundable application fee must be paid online.
- $25 Early-Bird Application Fee: Applications submitted on or before September 30, 2026.
- $50 Standard Application Fee: Applications submitted between October 1 and October 30, 2026.
Application Deadline
All application materials must be received by October 30, 2026.
Incomplete applications or materials received after the deadline will not be considered.
Selection & Notification
Applications are reviewed by the Leadership Southwest Selection Committee. The Board of Directors will extend official invitations to applicants selected for the Class of 2027.
Selected applicants will receive an official invitation by email, along with program information and a tuition invoice based on Chamber Member or Non-Chamber Member status.
Because space is limited, some highly qualified applicants may not be selected during their first year of application. Applicants who are not selected are encouraged to apply again for a future class.
Program Tuition
- $1,095: Chamber Member
- $1,295: Non-Chamber Member
Tuition is due upon acceptance and must be paid in full by December 31, 2026.
Failure to pay tuition in full by the deadline will result in non-participation. Once classes begin, tuition is non-refundable.
